My Contour Palette Collection | MUNAZZA BANGASH

Contouring or sculpting your face is a trend that most follow. Whether it be a light sweep of ashy taupe shade, or full on drag, or even an orange bronzer (used sinfully in place of contour); this trend is here to stay. We hear questions related to contouring your face on a daily basis. Some of them include, how to actually contour the face, which undertone or shade to use, which products are the best, and also, do we have to spend a lot of money to buy the best contour product out there?

The answer to the last question is; no, you don’t have to spend a lot to get your hands on a good quality contour product. When I started out as a makeup lover, I did not have enough to invest on such expensive contour palettes. I bought what I could afford at the time and worked with it. Then I stepped into the makeup world as an artist, and it’s different doing someone else’s makeup than your own, so naturally, I had to invest more on better quality products. With time, I gathered a bunch of contour palettes in search of the best one out there.

A few days ago, when I finally got my hands on the holy grail contour palette (Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette) years of struggle in the makeup industry finally paying off, I decided to share my collection with you guys.

In the following list, there is something for everyone. If your budget is as low as a few hundred rupees, I got you! And if you want the highest quality product for yourself, I have the best recommendation for that as well. In today’s post, we’re just gonna discuss the few products that I have; detailed reviews along with swatches and makeup looks will be coming very soon on this blog, so stay tuned.

One of the most inexpensive contour shade you can invest in is the Makeup Revolution Mono Baked Eyeshadow in the shade Mocha Love. Yes, it’s an eyeshadow but it’s such a perfect contour shade, that I was shocked when I first discovered it. However, you need to be careful with the product as it still is an eyeshadow and is a bit more opaque than a regular contour shade. Just go with a light hand, and you’re good to go.

This was my first contour palette. I used it for a very long time before investing in another one. I did a lot of my earlier clients using this palette. The drawback I faced with this was that it was not opaque enough. I had to go back and forth several times, to actually get some color out of it. Comparatively, it has more powder shades, so it can be used for multiple purposes.

This was my ride or die for a very long time. I used it on several clients and models, and it gave me amazing result each time. This has good quality powder shades as well, such as banana powder and face powder. It has got a highlighter so soft, that you can mix it with the banana powder and apply it all over your face to achieve a glowing skin effect. It has also got a much blingy hilighter, and even more so that you can use it as an eyeshadow. As for the contour shades, it has got the most perfect, taupe contour, a darker contour and bronzer. You can call it a dupe of the Kat Von D Shade and Light Palette.

The second last palette that I invested on was the Luscious Cosmetics Contour kit. It has got two contour shades, a face powder and a cream highlighter. I love using the cream highlighter on day to day basis. As for the contour shades, these are more opaque than any of the contour shades I’ve ever used before. It is one of the best palettes out there, but you have to be careful as not to apply too much.

If you want the most wholesome and high quality contour palette, this is the palette for you. However, a bit expensive, it is a cult favorite for a reason. This has got three large pans of contour shades, perfect for any skin tone, especially the shade on the lower left corner. It creates the perfect cool toned shadow on the face. As for the face powders, the quality is top notch. My favorite from the face powders is the one on the upper right corner. This shade has color correcting properties, so if your base looks a but grey, just apply some of that powder on your face, and you’d see a huge difference.

And that’s it, you guys! Hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, please make sure to like, comment and share.

Till next time, stay positive!
