Jeffree Star Lip Kits – Review | MUNAZZA BANGASH

If you know me, you know that I’m absolutely nuts when it comes to Jeffree Star Cosmetics because the quality of his products is unmatched. So, some time ago, I needed some really good quality lip colors for my clients. Getting one or two wasn’t gonna cut it, and buying more than five was gonna cost me more than I had at the time. So I chose for myself the extremely convenient lipstick kits by Jeffree Star!

The lipsticks come in a big, sturdy box that can be used to store your makeup products as well. It’s pretty and is the color of the shades of lipsticks inside. It is secured with magnet and doesn’t open unless you want it to (meaning it’s good quality).

When you open the box, you see the mini liquid lipsticks securely stuck in a foam under the card layer with individual names written under each lipstick. The lipsticks are exactly like the full sized ones, just smaller.

Tip: I removed the foam inside (in which the lipsticks were put properly, and used the box to store my face powders and highlighters in.

There are a few different lip kits to choose from on their site, but I got the ones I found most suitable to be used with clients (and if some color wasn’t available, I could mix and match). Two such kits were Mini Nudes Bundle: Vol 2, and Mini Red and Pink Bundle.

Mini Nudes Bundle: Vol 2

Instead of buying volume 1, I got volume 2, and here is the reason. Volume 1 (although perfect) was made for people with light to medium skin tone, while volume 2 is made for medium to darker skin toned beauties. Most of my clients have medium skin tone and they prefer a dark shade of lipstick (and I do, too). For my light skinned clients, there is also lighter lip colors, so it was just the perfect choice. And besides it’s easier to mix and match when you have both light and deeper colors to choose from.

Shades and Swatches

Our Mini Velour Liquid Lipstick bundle comes with 6 of our top selling nudes + Tasty & Top Shelf, which are brand new additions to the Jeffree Star Cosmetics brand and exclusive to this bundle!
  • I’m Nude – Classic, slightly pink toned nude shade.
  • Birthday Suit – A bit more colored than I’m Nude, but definitely lighter than the rest, and also tilted a bit towards peachy tones.
  • Top Shelf – Warm brown shade.
  • Christmas Cookie – A mauve nude.
  • Nathan – Peachy nude.
  • Dominatrix – Cool toned, dark brown.
  • Family Jewels – Muted mauve shade.
  • Tasty – Olive toned brown shade.

Mini Red and Pink Bundle

I had to get this bundle for it had the most perfect shades. It has nude pinks, mauve, proper pinks, orange, red and maroon. This is by far the best purchase I’ve ever made.

Shades and Swatches

This box set features 8 of our all-time top selling pink and red shades, including a few of our limited edition colors: Doll Parts, Calabasas, Wifey, Watermelon Soda, Anna Nicole, Prom Night, RedRum and Unicorn Blood!
  • Doll Parts – Classic pink tilted, purple shade.
  • Calabasas – Mauve.
  • Wifey – Pinkish red.
  • Watermelon Soda – Barbie pink, but a bit sweeter and warmer in tone.
  • Anna Nicole – orange shade.
  • Prom Night – Pure purple.
  • RedRum – Classic cool toned red.
  • Unicorn Blood – Maroon with red undertones.

My Verdict

I think it’s a great investment to make especially if you’re just starting out as a makeup artist, beauty blogger, or even just someone who loves makeup. If you use minimum makeup, these two sets can give you the perfect lip with each dress, and last you a long time. I especially love the fact that I get to try out so many different lip shades, so by the end I would know which shade I want to buy the full size of.

These liquid lipsticks are high in quality (just like the full sized ones), they’re completely matte, transfer proof, opaque and flattering. For both the bundles my most used shade is Calabasas.

So, if you ask me whether I would suggest you to buy this product or not; I would definitely recommend it. For me it’s 10/10!

This is NOT sponsored (though I wish it was).

Have you used Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks before? If yes, make sure to share your experience with us, and let us know which shade is your favorite? If not, which shade would you like to try?
